The greatest thing about the Marconi is that its easy to find if you are new to Venice. On the Grand Canal and next to the Rialto bridge, you can never wander too far without coming across a sign that will guide you home. The next greatest thing is the hotel lobby and the friendly welcome at reception. The breakfast arrangements are also good with ample choice and plenty of it. The room we occupied seemed a bit dark and would have benefited from redecoration... however the bathroom was fairly new and of good quality and the beds were firm and comfortable... so basically fine for a few days!

This Hotel is just next to the Rialto bridge. (A little too busy ) The stair case was marathon worthy!! But all in all Good food, good service, and room was small but adequate and very cute!! Just beware of one of the front desk guys who recommnds his friends' restaurant (food nothing special and costly and cash only!! Beware) I would recommend this cute Hotel.

Hotel was very idealy located, easy access to all the squares/areas. Housekeeping staff very friendly and helpful (non-italian), though not much can be said for the Staff at reception/Italian houskeeping staff- don't know if this is a Venetian/Italian thing or the people were like that. Overall we had a good stay- drink prices/bar prices very reasonble for a hotel considering Venice is VERY pricey.

Lovely hotel, good location, staff all very polite and helpful, would have been nice if it had a small bar area, Venice is a wonderful place to visit, and the local foods are a must to try

There is an excellent pizza/gelato place directly across the canal from the hotel (behind the vaporeti docks) that is perfect and convenient for lunch. The restaurant just outside the hotel is very nice as well, a little pricey but the quality was satisfactory and dining on the edge of the canal was very romantic.

Hotel Marconi is not super-flash but it is a great base for exploring Venice. I don't think you could beat the location. Breakfast was included in the price and it was a substantial. filling breakfast which was unusually good compared to other hotels we stayed at in Italy. I don't have anything negative to say about the hotel at all.

If you don't know Venice and especially if you are arriving late at night, this hotel is a good place to stay as it is easy to find (being just near the Rialto Bridge). For repeat visitors, I would suggest staying somewhere more secluded away from the tourist throng. The hotel itself was good, although I have stayed in much nicer three star accommodation. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a little small (par for the course in Venice) but comfortable and clean (although not well positioned, being at the back of the hotel - get one with a view if you can) and breakfast was really rather nice. The lobby had an off-putting damp smell, but as this did not extend into any other part of the hotel it was not a problem. Extra points to the hotel for making our stay special (it was our first wedding anniversary) with a chilled bottle of Prosecco waiting in the room upon our return form dinner. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. All of the major sites are within a short walk away and so this is a good place to base yourself if you are making a flying visit (especially if it is your first time) to Venice.

The hotel was very small and had no elevator, but the great staff made our stay quite enjoyable. The location was the best part. It is located right at the Rialto Bridge and water taxi station and within a short walking distance to St. Marcos square. We were upgraded to a nicer room the second night but the first night was ok too. I would definitely stay there again.
