Convenient and comfortable

There was a great little restaurant just on the other side of the Grand Canal. Walk over the bridge and straight up the street. It is on your right about a block up. Good food, good service, good prices.

Very disappointed

I paid a large amount of money for a single room which was tiny and their was no hot water - i was given a key to shower in another room. I was very disappointed as the hotel barely looked like anyone was staying there and to be placed in such a room is disgusting. The hotel was undergoing renovation and none of this was mentioned in the hotel description at the time of booking. Also be warned of the 50 stairs you have to climb to get to reception and then I had a very long walk to my room over about 4 different floor heights - definitely not for the elderly to be walking on. The one fortunate thing was I was only overnighting here - thank goodness. Be warned - I know Venice hotels as I have stayed here before and this is the absolute worst and most expensive that i have used.

Good for location in Venice.

Buying 12 or 24 or 72 hour water-bus ticket takes you everywhere within venice.Brek`s Bar and restaurant is good food and value for money.

Served it's purpose

The hotel was not near the highlights of Venice. However, it is right on a main walking street. It is not far from the rail station and Piazza Roma. If you're arriving by ship it's great because you can actually walk to the hotel from the port. Transporting your luggage over the number of bridges crossing over the Grande Canal was an experience as well. We found it perfectly suited to our "extra night's stay" following our Mediterranean Cruise.

Good basic hotel

We found it well worth buying the three day travel card and really enjoyed hopping on and off the water buses. Tioket also includes trips to Burano and Murano if wanted well worth the price

September in Venice

Beware of the fast-ticket machines in the railway stations - fast but not always the cheapest fare.

Cheap, well positioned and clean

A nice hotel which is easily found from P Roma. Rooms were clean and the English speaking reception staff are friendly. Only poor point was the breakfast. 'Cold' Hot chocolate and a small selection of unpleasant foods. We didn't let the breakfast bother us, as you can have a hot drink and a croissant at any near by cafe for 3-4 euro's. I would stay at this hotel again.
