Unlike other reviewers I found the staff unhelpful bordering on rude and they seemed unable to give reliable information regarding timetables about local transport. On arrival we were told we had a "very nice" room leading us to expect more than the very cramped room, extremely uncomfortable bed and pillows and the window looking out onto a noise air conditioning unit that kept us awake at night. The bathroom was clean and the shower excellent. We reached the room by taking a lift to the second floor and then walking down a flight of stairs. The room was cold and air conditioning temperature had to be set by the reception. The breakfast room was boiling hot and overcrowded and there were no pastries contrary to some reviews. The location was very central.

If you are a keen walker, don't buy your vaparetto ticket (1 day, 3 day passes) in advance as you might find you don't wish to use the boats. We walked everywhere, using the 3 main bridges to cross the grand canal. The vaparetto boats are quite industrial compared with the romantic looking gondolas and James Bond style water taxis and they were also very full most of the time. Not a leisurely boat ride by the look of it - I recommend sticking to dry land and using your legs!

Pack Light! Leaving luggage at the train station or bus station is very expensive(and they do not open until 6, so if you have an early flight forget it) and it costs extra to take more than one piece of luggage on the water buses. If you are flying out of Venice airport, don't take an early flight as the logistics of getting there make it very difficult to do anything other than a water taxi- also very expensive.

This is a real find - recommended to us by friends of ours, we were so pleased to take them up on it! It's in a fantastic location (about 2 mins stroll from St Mark's) and very reasonably priced too. The staff were friendly and helpful and the walk to our room via what seemed to be an extension let the place down a little (just a little bit shabby) - we were really pleased with our room - big, comfy bed and a great bathroom including jacuzzi bath! The breakfast buffet was a little limited in terms of variety - but everything that was there was tasty. We had a wonderful time in Venice and would love to go back - and we would definitely stay here again.

It was a nice hotel, it was close to St. Martin's square, but make sure you get a map of the city before trying to find it. You may get lost trying to find it without a good map. Breakfast was good, included in the price too. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and spoke english. The only thing, they were doing some maintenance on the hotel, so a little dirty in couple of the hallways. But overall, a good hotel for the price, in US dollars, b/c you won't pay in euros

Very close to St. Marco, which is the centre of everything in Venice. It was a great place to find restaurants and drink all the wine you want and get safely back to your hotel. However, it was noisy at night as well as early in the morning, with a lot of traffic (people) on the street just below our room. The beddings felt a little dusty and my partner started sneezing all night with his allergies... I could not get hot water to shower in the morning, which you cannot expect too much in a city like Venice. I was able to shower during the afternoon hours. The guys at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was reasonably priced and a reasonable hotel in a city like Venice.

My room is located in a different alley than the main hotel lobby. It feels weird to be led to another street and go up to some nondescriptive building for your room. our stay turned out to be ok but I can't say I would stay here again. The room itself is ok.

This hotel is in a fantastic location in Venice, right next to the Piazza San Marco and not far from Rialto. However, I had a nasty surprise as the bathroom was not at all up to par. When we arrived at the hotel, we were kindly greeted and shown past the ripped carpets to our rooms. The room faced a wall of an adjacent building and had very little outside noise. The bathroom floors were cracked brown tile. The shower door fell in on the person in the shower and had difficulty staying closed. I would highly recommend bringing shower shoes, as I was not sure of the cleanliness of the hotel room or its bathroom. The bed linens were bunched over a large lump in the hard mattress. The luggage hold option was keeping your luggage in the front hall of the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel except for its location.
