the hotel had this antique feel to it.. the rooms are not redesigned with easily accessible power sources.. the hotel does not offer wireless internet which sucks big time..

The general impression was good, although some rooms are really nice while others are noise or have problems with the toilet. In any case they change the room to you if you complain.

The hotel workers have been picketing outside the hotel(for years someone in chicago told me). there is inadequate help at the front desk, my room was old, paint chipping, no airconditioning (an in window heater with no cold control), the closet reminded me of the closet in my first apartment and the towels felt like sand paper. this is a third or fourth rate hotel. what was good about it, location, near the museums, the theaters and transportation.

The hotel was in a great location and easy to locate when driving into the city. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The only complaint I have was that our room was extremely warm. We couldn't open the window and the vent did not offer cooler air. I would suggest switching rooms if you encounter a warm room as we did.

Perfect location downtown. Easy walk to Shedd/Field Museum/Adler Planetarium. Very comfortable rooms, gift shop sells wide variety of things you've probably forgotten to pack, great restaurant for breakfast (but beware - the buffet is MUCH more expensive than the menu items!). It has a wonderful historic look and feel, and If you go in knowing that it is not a modernized hotel, you won't be disappointed. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
