The hotel reflects the delightful atmosphere of old San Francisco. The downtown location is perfect, walking distance to just about every attraction. The rooms could be considered small in this day and age, but they are decorated in an elegant and also practical way. Big isn't always better! Service was excellent.

The hotel room was small but it was fine we only slept in the room and it was very clean and the staff was VERY polite, the hotel was very nice overall. The best thing was the trolley drop off was in front of the hotel much appreciated! THank you

The place was so cute and classy - yes the rooms were a little small but the flavor of the hotel made it possible to overlook it. Everyone was so helpful and nice. It is also woderful to see a "pet friendly" place even though we left our dogs at home! Can't wait to come back and stay again.

The hotel's location is fabulous, walking distance to nice restaurants, museums and stores. The hotel room and bathroom were very little and this made it a bit unconfortable. I chose it because I thought I had read it had big rooms and was disapointed to find the contrary. The hotel is old and the maintenance is not good, it really looks old. It is not really clean. The restaurant at the street level is good. It was a nice stay but the thing that bothered me the most was the size of the room and bathroom.

Sears fine food across the street is great for breakfast. Take the BART to the airport! It is only 4-5 blocks up fromt he Powell Street Stn. and is a huge money saver! Cab one way=$50 (with tip) BART = $5.50 each person one way.

This hotel is in a great location if you want to experience the SF tourist thing. The hotel is old but the decor has been updated. The elevators are slow and small and the hotel has an old feel to it but again it is a great location.

Go to the Walgreen's across the street and buy a Muni Pass for 11.00. It gives you unlimited rides on cable cars, buses, trams for 24 hours.

To me the hotel was near everything---right on the cable car line, shopping everywhere, China Town a quick three block walk.

Location, location, location! What a great spot to be in San Francisco. The hotel was beautiful and a great choice to stay at while visiting the city. I did have a difficult time tracking down the Concierge on Friday, and when I did, she was not helpful. That aside, my three night stay was excellent. The next time I travel to the city, I will again book a room at the Sir Francis Drake.
