We went to SF for a quick weekend trip and stayed at San Francisco's Club Quarters. The hotel was nice, the rooms are very small, but if you're not going to spend a lot of time there, then it's the perfect place. Close to everything, nice area.

I recently stayed at CQ while attending a seminar in San Francisco. The room size was small, but just what I needed for the trip since I was traveling alone. Two people would have been a tight squeeze and I would upgrade in that case. The hotel was clean and simple. CQ does cater to the business crowd but I am sure that this is due to the location being at the edge of the financial district. Within a few blocks of getting on/off cable cars. Within approx 15 blocks or so of the famous Fisherman's Wharf. Overall, just right!

"Club" is apt. It sort of has the feel of frat grads in their next phase. Serious frats, though, not Animal House. Comfortable.

CQ in SF was typical of this chain...clean, comfy, good service, good location. This particular one is located downtown near the Ferry Terminal (not near Fisherman's Wharf area or Union Sq). The area is busy during the day, but gets quiet at night. There's a movie theater across the street, but not a lot of good restaurants very close-by; Ferry Terminal is 10 min walk...not terrible, but the location of the CQs in NY and London are much better.

I stayed in the basic room. Small (which isn't uncommon for San Fran), but perfect for just 1 person. In the same building is a great Irish/English oriented bar with decent food and nightscene.
